The team was asked to develop and design a fully functioning analysis tool for the sales department at Blocket Jobb, mapping copious amounts of raw employment-ad-data extracted from their website over the years, with a primary focus on geographical place of employment, line of business and sub-categories of lines - as well as trends in employment advertisements over time.
This data visualization tool provides two modes of comparison:
Filtering of data is done by adjusting the slider boundaries of the time span, grabbing and dragging the selected span along the slider, selecting line of business or specific professions in the dropdown menu and through selecting region of interest either on the map itself or from the list of regions.

This our team, as well as our plan of initial workload distribution amongst its members. Prior to starting with the project, each group member was assigned two areas of responsibilites.
Alexander NordhThis is pobabably the first time many of us has worked with an actual stakeholder or client, with demands with respect to technologies and frameworks used in order to fit with the pre-existing IT infrastructure within the company, among many things. This has proved incredibly educational and something we all agree is one of the foremost takeaways from this project.
The immense importance of user-centered design in development and planning of interactive visualisation applications such as this one. Continous evaluation of real- or semi-real world tests proved extremely useful. Foresight of user behaviour and optimization of the product based on how the users can, want, or need to use the product was fundamental to the development process and thankfully we were allowed some ease with regard to this, with our target group being professionals.
The project has contributed greatly to developing our skills with regards to version control and code collaboration overall. The importance of structured code, group interaction and own responsibility can not be overstated.
Information design at large with intuitive overviews, detailed data on demand, visual mappings interaction consistency, brushing, filtering, and so on. The project allowed us to further apply information visualization theory along with data categorization as well as data representation in a very practical manner.
